DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

This time our hike will take us to Tannourine in North Lebanon, where we will walk along the valley by the riverbank of Nahr El Jawz on a road dating back to the Roman Empire, capturing unforgettable pictures.

Tannourine is home to over 17 villages such as Tannourine el Fawqa, Wata Houb, el Wadi, Tannourine el Tahta, and many other wonderful villages.

We will begin by visiting a more than 1000-year-old Crusade church before starting our hiking journey.

HIKING LEVEL: Level 4 (Intermediate)
It’s downhill, an easy and beautiful trail of just 7 KM.

From the old church, we will continue along a trail leading to old mills and then to the river, with rare views unique to this altitude terrain. The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars and pine forests seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive.

As we cross Wata Houb, the scenery changes, and we’ll pass through a dense forest of different kinds of trees, resembling a jungle. You’ll be charmed by the trees lining the riverbanks, particularly the walnut trees which grow close to the water, giving the river its name.

The track will lead us to “Tannourine Natural Spring Mineral Water” in El Wadi village; perhaps we’ll visit the company and learn about the water production processes.

Our lunch will be under oak trees near the riverbank at El Wadi village.

The event is finished.
