Saida is one of Lebanon’s most charming and picturesque destinations. Even though this southern city is just 45km south of Beirut, many Lebanese have never experienced its many wonders.

Getting lost in the Old Souk is half the fun of visiting Saida. You’ll find clothing, homemade soap, wood working, hardware, furniture, food and more.

The Omari Mosque, an Ottoman relic located in the Old Souk, is still in use today. It is a wonderful window to the 13th century architecture and was originally an old church of Saint John the Baptist.

Enjoy some of the best falafel in Lebanon, courtesy of Abou Rami’s Falafel, located on the waterfront.The Soap Museum (+961 7 733 353) reveals the history of soap-making in Saida, and has these adorable miniature soap versions of sandals and a tarboush.
You can share an ice cream with some local children because traveling is about meeting new people, no matter what age!
