The Scene Unfolds
Group Exhibition of South Korean Artists: Yuja, Senghun Han, and Nina Park
Yuja lives and works in South Korea. Her colorful paintings express the underlying potentials within us. “Life is full of uncertainties, and we cannot be sure about anything, much like being lost in the woods. But if you pause for a moment and pay attention, you may find its own unique color and fragrance, even amidst disorder and chaos. The flowers, trees, and a girl may seem soft and emotionally fragile, but this irony gives them more room to grow and limitless potential.”
Senghun Han (b. 1982) received his BFA in Fine Arts from Daegu University in South Korea. Han’s works depict perfectly decorated figures with crisp, clean edges and dreamy backgrounds, using oil paint to highlight the existential void in the modern world. His doll-like characters with empty expressions invite viewers to question their true identity and reconsider the meaning of life. “If we look around, wouldn’t we be able to rediscover ourselves and find the pieces of our lost minds?”
Nina Park is a South Korean artist who charmingly expresses her view on everyday life. Fueled by the monotonous routine of her days, simplicity is a vital factor in her work. Park is inspired by the changing seasons and the outfits of people on the streets, creating sincere illustrations often accompanied by an animal companion.
