Lebanon Winter Expedition
The Winter Lebanon Expedition is an immersive and challenging winter wilderness training program developed by 33North. This expedition is designed to equip participants with essential winter survival and expedition skills, emphasizing self-sufficiency and resilience in winter conditions.
Core Objectives:
- Train participants in winter safety techniques
- Develop backcountry camping and pulk hauling skills
- Build teamwork and problem-solving abilities in winter conditions
Key Training Components:
- Equipment & Pulk Hauling:
- Packing and using pulk sleds for expedition-style travel
- Selection and use of winter gear, including layering systems
- Managing weight distribution for long-distance trekking
- Shelter Building & Camping:
- Tent pitching in snow conditions
- Constructing emergency snow shelters
- Managing stoves and cooking in subzero temperatures
- Cold Weather Risk Management
- Rope Use & Winter Safety:
- Securing, ascending, descending, and belaying on icy terrain
- Using ice axes and crampons for technical sections
- Self-arrest and rescue techniques in case of a fall
