EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The name Karm El Mohr likely originates from historical marriage endowments and its famed vineyards. This picturesque town boasts the Aycha Fortress, perched on Al Fawwar spring, with ruins of a former prince’s palace overseeing ancient trade routes. Karm El Mohr is rich in springs, providing ample opportunity to refill your water bottles during the hike.
Traditionally reliant on agriculture, particularly apples, pears, and wheat, the town now sees a decline in this sector, with many residents supported by remittances from abroad.
HIKING LEVELS:
- Level 4: 8 km hike starting from Dairaiya village, through enchanting woods and scenic views, featuring three water springs and the remnants of a Crusader Church. Enjoy frequent rest breaks and photo opportunities.
- Level 6: A more challenging 12 km trail with breathtaking mountainous scenery and a longer ascent and descent. Expect a more physically demanding experience without scheduled breaks.
On our return to Beirut, we’ll stop in Batroun for refreshing lemonade.
WHAT TO BRING:
