TOUR DESCRIPTION:
===============
Since Biblical times, Lebanon has been acclaimed for its prized Bekaa Valley wines. Lebanon’s oldest wineries resumed a 5000-year Phoenician tradition. Today, this ‘’bijou winery’’, nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean, produces a range of unique wines that capture the spirit of the Levant.
It is no coincidence that the Romans chose the Bekaa Valley as the site for building the temple of Bacchus in homage to their God of wine and grapes. In all Lebanon, the number of wineries went from 5 in 1998 to over 30 nowadays.
Our tour will start with a visit to Clos St. Thomas. It is a winery that has won a lot of international gold medals. There are underground caves carved in the rocks that keep the wine in ideal conditions. You will visit it, learn about winemaking and get to taste its exquisite wine.
Our next stop will be in Chateau Khoury. Chateau Khoury enjoys a privileged location on the eastern foothills of the Lebanese mountain at an altitude of 1300 m. Their philosophy is to produce high-quality wine so as to express the characteristics of the Lebanese climate and of the particular terroir of Chateau Khoury.
There, will have lunch in a very special place, Chateau Khoury restaurant.
After lunch, we will return to the bus to go and visit Massaya. Massaya, whose name is Arabic, for the delicate beauty of the Bekaa’s twilight, with its French and Lebanese partners. It was for Anis “Arak” in 1994. In 1998, it became for the wine and “Arak’. You will visit it, learn about winemaking and get to taste its exquisite wine.
On another tour, you will have the chance to see other prestigious wineries in the Bekaa valley.
As usual, you will enjoy memorable moments among friends! It’ll be great!
