Join us this time to explore a new fantastic trail between Jezzine & Sidon districts.(This trail will be walked on for the first time, and it was created by Golden feet team.
First we will visit the Shrine of Saint John the Baptist, Karkha
-Karkha is located in Jezzine District, South Governorate.
It is 341 m above sea level. It is 47 km away from Beirut.
It is a quiet village, located on top of a mountain and surrounded by valleys. It is distinguished by its old houses and some of them are new. It is an old village, but its streets are being organized.
It is one of the seven villages that Jesus Christ visited, and it is also mentioned in the movie in the Footsteps of Christ.
There is a wonderful cave in the place,that cave drips water from the ceiling once a year on the feast of St. John the Baptism.
In addition to the presence of traces of an old press, and in the courtyard of the place there is an oak tree that resisted many people and natural factors to remain steadfast, and it testifies to what happened from history. It is said that it is about 2000 years old, and it may be the only one in the world that does not bear oak fruits.
We will pass in this trail by The Temple of Eshmun in Sidon.
-The Temple of Eshmun (Arabic: معبد أشمون) is an ancient place of worship dedicated to Eshmun, the Phoenician god of healing. It is located near the Awali river, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) northeast of Sidon in southwestern Lebanon.
Our new amazing trail will be between Karkha & Lebaa Ain Al Mir & Mrah al Hbas & Kfarfalous & Salhieh,Fakha,Bqosta villages to reach finaly Al Awali river in Sidon.
During our walk we will see wonderful views,fresh springs, splendid nature and old houses there. Then, a long and beautiful downhill follows with wonderful panorama views.
Finally,We will take a repos between Al Awali river & Al Rmeily beach where we will swim there for those who wish.
Don't forget to bring your swimsuits.
مشينا هذه المرة سيكون مميزا في طريق جديدة يمشى عليها لاول مرة وهي من اكتشاف فريق Golden feet.
سنزور اولا مزار مار يوحنا المعمدان الرائع في كرخا .
‎ تقع بلدة كرخا في قضاء جزين، محافظة الجنوب.
‎انها قرية هادئة، تقع على رأس جبلٍ وحولها وديان، تتميز بمنازلها القديمة وبعضها جديد .
‎هي إحدى ٱلقرى ٱلسّبعة ٱلّتي زارها ٱلسّيّد ٱلمسيح، كما إنّها مذكورة في فيلم:" على خطى ٱلمسيح
‎ما يميز هذه القرية وجود مزار لمار يوحنا المعمدان و هناك أكبر تمثال له في ٱلعالم وهو موضوع على لائحة " غينيس "
‎يوجد في المكان مغارة رائعة ، فتلك ٱلمغارة يقطر من سقفها الماء مرةً في ٱلسّنة، وذلك يوم عيد مار يوحنّا. بالاضافة الى وجود اثار لمعصرة قديمة، تم انشاء المزار سنة 2022 و في ساحة المكان يوجد سنديانة قاومت ٱلكثير من عبث ٱلبشر ومن العوامل الطبيعية لتبقى صامدة و هي شاهدة على مامر من هناك و يقال ان عمرها نحو2000 سنة و ربما تكون الوحيدة في العالم التي لا تثمر البلوط .
سنمر خلال مشينا بمعبد اشمون التاريخي في صيدا.
معبد أشمون هو مكان عبادة قديم مخصص لأشمون ، إله الشفاء الفينيقي. يقع بالقرب من نهر الأولي ، على بعد كيلومترين (1.2 ميل) شمال شرق صيدا.
مشينا سيكون في الطبيعة بين قرى كرخا ولبعا عين المير ومراح الحباس وكفرفالوس والصالحية والفاكهة وبقسطا وصولا الى نهر الاولي في صيدا حيث سنرى في طريقنا مناظر بانورامية رائعة كاشفة على الجبال والبحر ومنازل قديمة وينابيع.
اخيرا،سنستريح ونسبح (لمن يرغب) بين نهر الاولي وشاطئ الرميلة.
الرجاء احضار غدائكم معكم او يمكنكم الغداء في احد المطاعم قرب البحر(a la carte)

Lunch break will be in an amazing place(plz bring your snacks with you) or you can take your lunch in a restaurant near the beach(a la carte)

*7:55 AM near mobilitop nahr el mot.
*8:00 AM near Al nahar news paper downtown Beirut.
N.B:we can pick up all hikers who live on our way.
