Afqa - Lessa hike with Dale Corazon-Lebanon Explorers
We will hike together in one group along a down easy path of just 8 KM. The views are remarkable. We can see Jabal Moussa and Nahr Ibrahim valley with all the villages surround the valley as Aqoura, Kartaba, Ghabat, Etc,
| HIKE LOCATION : Afqa / Keserwan / Mount Lebanon ============= 1450 meters above sea level 54 km from Beirut. WHEN : Saturday, June 05, 2021 ===== ENCOUNTER PLACE : Mar Abda Church parking facing the New bridge, Jal El Dib, @ 7:30AM. =============== FEES: ==== 50,000 LBP/person including transport (Open windows), professional guides, 5 minutes warming up, stretching, and pictures. Taking appropriate precautions, the places on the bus are limited. Children 18 years old and younger will have a discount of 12.5%. (45,000 LBP per person) Optional transportation by your own vehicles. 35,000 LBP/person There are 5,000 LBP Extra Entrance fees to the Waterfall. (Optional) DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: ====================== HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous Level 4 (8 km, approx. 2:45Hr) We will start the hike from the hills of Lassa, one of the most spectacular villages of Mount Lebanon overlooking Nahr Ibrahim gorge. Along the way we will visit Nabi Hadwan, a walk to the sanctuary located on the cliff is a must to see. We will see as well the old juniper trees and then go down to visit a great and ancient temple located near the waterfall and the impressive Afqa Grotto. There, ritual prostitution was practiced until the time of Constantine in Afqa village. The main feature of Lassa and Afqa is the beautiful rock formations spread throughout the villages. We get to walk on an agriculture road along the mountain cliff “Chir El Jalse” overlooking the spectacular simultaneous sea and mountain, reach in breathtaking views. We will end the hike at Afqa Grotto and waterfall where we will take some magical photos. Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions: Distancing from each other is a must. Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. To keep it on, while we are on the bus. Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other. WHAT TO TAKE: ============ Healthy snacks that will boost your energy include dried fruits, lunch, water, MEDICAL FACE MASKS, HAND GEL, cap, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes (Professional brand is recommended) and don't forget to get a light jacket.
