- Two options for Transportation: in a comfortable air-conditioned bus or with your own cars
- Contribution: 15.-$/person covering program, guides, transportation, wine tour & tasting – 12$/child of 12 years and below - Optional: 10$/person for transportation with your own cars (Please bring the exact amount).

Overview
Join Green Steps on Sunday 04/12/2022 to hike in a piece of heaven, Aana village, located in West Bekaa. You will hike in its fertile colorful plain, where autumn is blazing with iridescent reflexions, leaving its colorful leaves spreading all over the natural carpet. However, this hiking won’t be complete without planting pine trees with your green hands, offsetting with this act your carbon emission; and to be perfect, your adventure will culminate with a visit to a local winery and tasting its fresh wine.
What to Expect
- The day will start with a breakfast stop on your way to Aana village.
- The hiking trail will be an agricultural one, between the colorful vineyard and the yellow reddish fruity trees, passing by the pine and cedar forest, crossing cereals lands and diverse agricultural fields till you reach a lake where you will have your lunch break there.
- During the hike, you’ll not get tired of witnessing and admiring lovely colorful sceneries and landscapes.
The trail is of level 4, easy for families and children

Altitude: 950 m
Variation : 30 m
Effective hiking time: 3 hrs
The hike will be guided by an ecotourism specialist at a moderate rate.
- Faithful to Oaks and Cedars motto, you are going to plant pine trees in the forest. These pine trees have been grown and maintained in O&C nursery and ready to be planted in the forests.
- Please bring with you some snacks, fruits or vegetables. You are going to have your lunch in nature.
- The trip will end with a visit to a local winery “Cave Kouroum”.
- Please book your places as soon as possible. The event is very interesting and the place is unique and private.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Needs for the hike: hiking shoes, hiking stick, hand sanitizer, warm jacket, hat, backpack, WATER bottles of 2-liter min, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, meal (dry fruits, energy bars, sandwich, drinks), ID card, insurance card, smiley face, and full energy.
- General knowledge contest and quiz related to the area with a prize for the participants
N.B.:
- Cancellations without prior notice of 24 hours require a payment of 50% of the full contribution
- A minimum of 18 persons is required for the trip to be feasible
- The event being ecological, Green Steps encourage all participants to adopt a refill water bottle instead of plastic ones.
- Hikers are advised to participate in the hike to their own responsibility
- Hikers are asked to follow hiking ethics provided by Green Steps
- Smoking is not allowed during the hike
- In the case of force majeure, some modifications may occur to the program

Information about the region
Aana is a village in the Western Bekaa District of Lebanon, about 57 km from Beirut at an altitude of 970 meters. Some cereals are grown but vines and fruit trees predominate. The wines of Chateau Musar grow in this land that is the home of Lebanese-Brazilian Carlos Eddé.
Aana has a rich biodiversity of fauna and flora, and it lies in the valley of the bekaa between two mountain chains, where your eyes can admire the colorful agricultural lands creating a splendid carpet. Here there are no historic remains but nevertheless Aana is part of the historical heritage of Lebanon and of mankind.
Event of Green Steps by the NGO “Oaks & Cedars”. The contributions of this event will go to the reforestation of Lebanon.
