New Trail – HSARAT – BJERRINE to HBALINE SUNSET HIKE with Dale Corazon - Lebanon Explorers. We are going to a new area, to an abandoned village in Bjerrine, It’s wonderful!!! The ruins at Bjerrine village (the Ghost village) are from a prehistoric empire that has been on top of the mountain as Bcheale fortress in Batroun. Wow!!! SUNSET HIKE LOCATION : Hsarat-Bjerrine-Hbaline / Byblos / Mount Lebnaon =================== 250 -480 meters above sea level 37 km from Beirut. DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: ====================== First, we will visit the tomb of St. Charbel’s father and a quick visit to Deir Mar Geryes (St. Georges). We will hike together in one group along a downhill and uphill easy path. We will walk down from Hsarat to Bjerrine (the Ghost Village) then to Hbaline. We will get to walk along the mountain on a Phoenician track overlooking the spectacular Mediterranean Sea, reach breathtaking views exposed to the sun. The track is not hard. The walk will be around 2.3 - 3hrs., will visit in our way “Old St Jhon Church” at Al- Shir. The views are spectacular every step of the way, till we get to Bjerrine Village. It’s an abandoned old village that sits on Dahr El Batha. It was once a beautiful village, famous for its vegetation with a plentiful supply of water from deep wells. We will visit the old church of” Mar Elias” and will walk among many ancient ruins and caves dating from the Canaanite, Phoenician and Roman eras and pass by abandoned houses, mills, and wells. From there will take the easy uphill trail to Hbaline, to visit the village. There will discover great landmarks where we will take some magical photos. This sunset hike must not be missed. It will imprint unforgettable memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions: Distancing from each other is a must. Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. To keep it on, while we are on the bus. Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other.
